Flint Hills Watercolor

The seventh grade is learning to watercolor, using a landscape of the Flint Hills. We are taking this one step at a time. They first created a light sketch of their landscape, and the back of this landscape has a sketch of the same image that is painted on front. I then painted in only the first layer of washes and walked them through doing the same. This landscape still has some of that original wash untouched. The next step, adding another layer of color and some detail, is included here. The students are learning how to use their tools to get desired effects out of this medium, and once they have their sampler, they will move to this next step. Then I will finally get to finish my landscapes!
